How to speed up the recovery after plastic surgery

The quick answer is

  • Although we can recommend things you should do after your operation to boost your recovery time of healing and operation, or to. post-operative risks
  • Often you will need to make sure you don't try to accelerate the healing process too much.
  • The other in mind all times is that every procedure is special, and every patient is unique. It has a touch of unpredictability bit
  • The basic tenets of having a good healing experience after surgery are being careful and having good rest and eating well.
  • Some surgical procedures take at least 2 weeks or more to avoid more strenuous tasks others have more. Other procedures can allow you to resume walking and non-taxing work in as little as a week; but again this varies, so talk to your doctor / surgeon for more information.
  • If you try to rush your surgery recovery or start to much to early, incision line healing/scars and overall outcomes long term.

The best things you can do to ensure a successful recovery and to help prevent getting a time of rehabilitation longer than expected is to consult with your surgeon for regular activity or other activities to resume. Follow the advice of your surgeon and nurse specifically after the operation for optimal outcomes and patient safety. And make sure that you eat properly, have a good rest and never smoke while you recover from the treatment.

Resting before surgery - Good sleep from cosmetic plastic surgery during the recovery

  • Let your body recover and take good nutrition and rest.
  • Recognize the rest may be challenging at first in the early stages of post-operation recovery but will get better.
  •  At first, a lack of relaxed sleep is expected and can leave you feeling depressed after surgery; it is also very common to doubt your decision to have surgery.
  • Keep your room as comfortable as possible at the post-op.
  • You should be told by your doctor or surgeon to stay hydrated.
  • This is necessary because all of your healing processes require adequate water intake for optimal operation.
  • Dehydration also affects the immune systems and cure functions of the body.
  • Plain water is strongly recommended not soft drinks.
  • If you have a Tummy Tuck, make sure to get support going to the toilet and wear your garment as prescribed.
  • Gentle gradual movements when you heal are generally a good idea so make sure you know the possibility of circulation-related surgery if you stay too long – ask your surgeon for detailed advice about how much you need to shift and what movements would be better in the early stages of surgery recovery.

Your surgeon will advise you and it is necessary to follow this advice with precision. This information does NOT constitute medical knowledge and does NOT contradict what you have been told by your own surgeon or doctor since cosmetic plastic surgery. Recognize when to be worried and whether there are any questions or troubling signs consult with your Surgeon or Nursing staff.

Eating after surgery - Foods to select and diets to nutritional healing change the diet

  • If you have dietary or nutritional deficiencies or allergies, before your service, discus these in depth.
  • Eating fresh fruits and vegetables and keeping a healthy diet before and after your surgery will ensure that your body receives the vitamins and nutrients it requires to help heal.
  • In vitamins E, D, C and A, iron, protein, fiber and zinc, almonds, fruit, lean meats, whole grains, yogurt and seafood are all high. Foods containing these nutrients contribute to wound healing and the development of scar tissue, as well as to the growth of new blood cells.
  • Be sure to take it easy and not try to do too much, too fast.
  • We recommend that our patients take it easy when recovering from surgery but with work commitments, young children and a busy lifestyle, it's not always possible.
  • When raising the kids or reaching for the stationery cupboard, wound healing can be quickly set back by a bump or by wrong step.
  • Explain to your children that they are gentle and do not work hard to lift, touch or exercise for at least one week to 3 weeks or more after surgery, sometimes several months, as you will be told depending on the treatment you have chosen.
  •  Make sure you get the so-called beauty sleep through your rest.
